AllFocusTM EDF Image Gallery - Landscape with Fire Truck
Landscape images were acquired with a Canon Digital Rebel camera and a Canon EF-S 17-85mm f4-5.6 IS USM lens with a polarizing filter. The camera was mounted on a tripod; image stabilization and autofocusing on the lens were turned off. Shooting mode - manual with Av=5.0, Tv=1/320, ISO=100. Z-stack of 3 images was acquired by manually rotating the focusing ring on the lens. Z-stack was processed with AllFocus V0.96. First image is the Z-stack animation, second image is the Merged Image produced by AllFocus. In this case the merge method was linear combination of images in the stack with weights determined by focus function.
Landscape photography presents unique difficulty for combining differently focused images - movement of objects between the frames, often caused by wind. In this example artifacts due to wind are negligible (some softness in the leaves on top of the truck hood), but the moving person creates a distracting trace. Manual editing will allow to remove this artifact. It will be introduced in forthcoming releases of AllFocus.
